Terms & Conditions
At NannyMcMelly, our goal is to make the nanny hiring process smooth, safe, and supportive for families and nannies alike. By engaging with our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions, which outline the responsibilities, policies, and expectations of all parties.
1. Our Role
NannyMcMelly is a nanny agency that connects families with qualified, thoroughly screened nannies. The family is the direct employer of the nanny. Our role is to manage the recruitment, screening, and introduction process and to provide ongoing support as needed.
2. Nanny Screening
All nannies introduced through NannyMcMelly have been:
Personally interviewed by our team
Reference-checked (minimum two professional references)
Verified to hold a current Working With Children Check
Selected based on experience, character, and alignment with your family’s needs
Many of our nannies also hold First Aid certification, childcare qualifications, and a driver’s licence.
3. Service Responsibilities
Permanent Nanny Placements
Families engaging in a permanent placement service will be guided through a thorough consultation and recruitment process.
The client is the direct employer and is responsible for the nanny’s pay, superannuation, tax, and working conditions.
Once your personalised shortlist has been presented, the placement fee must be paid in full before interviews or trial days commence.
If your nanny becomes ill, cannot attend work, or is no longer the right fit, NannyMcMelly will provide a replacement nanny as quickly as possible (ideally within 24 hours), provided you are using our ongoing agency support service.
Ongoing support is included to help ensure a smooth placement experience.
Casual Babysitting
Babysitting services are booked and paid through NannyMcMelly.
Babysitters for these services are employed by the agency for the duration of the booking.
NannyMcMelly will issue an invoice after each session. Payment is due within 24 hours.
School Drop-Offs & Pick-Ups / Weekend Babysitting
These services are facilitated through NannyMcMelly, but the family pays the nanny directly.
The agency is not responsible for the nanny’s payment or performance once introduced, unless ongoing support is in place.
4. Backup Nanny Service
If your regular nanny is unavailable due to illness, an emergency, or an unexpected absence, NannyMcMelly will provide a suitable replacement nanny as soon as possible—typically within 24 hours. This service is available to clients who are actively using our agency’s ongoing support or have opted into the backup nanny service.
5. Fees & Payments
Permanent Nanny Placements
The placement fee becomes payable once a personalised shortlist of candidates has been presented.
Full payment is required before any interviews or trial shifts can be scheduled.
This fee covers the recruitment process, candidate vetting, shortlist preparation, interview coordination, and agency support.
Casual Babysitting & Other Services
Casual babysitting sessions booked through NannyMcMelly will be invoiced directly by the agency.
Payment is required within 24 hours of receiving the invoice.
For services where the family pays the nanny directly (such as school pick-ups or weekend babysitting), NannyMcMelly is not responsible for payment or tax obligations.
General
All payments must be made via bank transfer or another approved payment method listed on the invoice.
Late payments may result in paused services or future booking restrictions.
6. Cancellations & Changes
Cancellations for casual babysitting made within 24 hours of the booking start time may be subject to a cancellation fee (typically one hour’s rate).
For permanent placements, if the nanny resigns or is terminated, NannyMcMelly will assist in sourcing a replacement nanny, provided agency support is active.
7. Liability
While NannyMcMelly takes every reasonable measure to ensure the suitability and professionalism of each nanny, we are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising during or after the nanny’s engagement, unless the nanny is directly employed by the agency (e.g. for casual babysitting services).
Families are responsible for creating a safe and lawful work environment for their nanny.
8. Confidentiality
All information shared between families, nannies, and the agency is treated as confidential. We expect all clients and carers to respect the privacy of others throughout the process.
9. Feedback & Communication
We welcome feedback at all stages of your journey. If you experience any issues, have questions, or want to share your experience, please reach out to us directly—we’re here to help.
10. Updates to These Terms
These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time. Families will be notified of any major changes. Continued use of our services implies acceptance of the updated terms.
